A sign overlay (also called a re-sticker or reface) costs between $25 and $50 depending on how much of the sign you are replacing. A full overlay that replaces the entire sign face is typically around $50. A half overlay covering one panel (like the brokerage section) runs about $30, and a third overlay for just a strip (like agent contact info) is around $25.
Re-stickering a real estate sandwich board costs between $18 and $65 depending on the board size and how much coverage you need. A full re-sticker on a standard 18x24 board is about $50, while a larger 24x32 board runs around $65 for full coverage. Overlays make sense when your sign structure is still in good shape but the branding, agent info, or brokerage details need updating.
They are the same thing. "Overlay" is the common term for lawn signs while "re-sticker" is more commonly used for sandwich boards and A-frames. Both mean applying new printed vinyl graphics over an existing sign rather than printing a brand new one. Other terms people use include reface, resurface, and vinyl overlay.
Standard turnaround for real estate sign printing is 5-7 business days from the time print-ready artwork is submitted. Rush production is available at most shops for 24-48 hour turnaround at an additional cost, typically around $25. Delays usually come from artwork revisions rather than the printing itself.

Buying Guide
If your existing sign's corrugated plastic base is still flat, rigid, and in good structural condition, an overlay is the more economical choice at $25-$50 versus $50-$70 for a new sign. Get a new sign if the base material is warped, cracked, or has been through multiple winters and lost its rigidity. A good rule of thumb: if the sign can still stand straight in the wind on an H-frame, an overlay will work fine.
Lamination is recommended for signs that will be outdoors for more than a few weeks, especially in direct sunlight. The UV-protective layer prevents fading, adds scratch resistance, and extends sign life significantly. At around $10 per sign, it is a low-cost upgrade.
