Real estate sign prices in
Peterborough
Peterborough is the largest real estate market east of Durham Region and the gateway to the Kawarthas, with two post secondary campuses feeding a student rental and duplex conversion market that does not exist anywhere else on this list.
Peterborough agents list a lot of multi unit and investment property, so the rider carries the pitch as often as the sign does: legal duplex, turnkey investment, or a unit count a buyer can read from the curb.
Signing a listing in Peterborough
Peterborough is the only market on this list where a large share of listings are bought for income rather than to live in. Two post secondary campuses and a long history of big houses being divided into units mean an agent here is often selling a duplex, a triplex or a licensed rental, and the buyer is running numbers rather than picturing a family room. That changes what the sign has to say.
On an investment listing the rider does the selling. A unit count, a legal duplex line, or turnkey, read from a slow moving car on a residential street, qualifies a buyer before they ever pick up the phone. The other half of the market is ordinary resale across East City, the Monaghan wards and out through Lakefield and Bridgenorth, and that behaves like any mid sized Ontario city: a lawn sign, a personal rider and an A frame for the open house.

Getting signs to Peterborough
- Peterborough is outside the radius the Oshawa van already covers, so there is no delivery price published for it. Pickup at the shop is free, and a printed panel can ship on its own, because the frame is the expensive thing to move and not the print.
- Everything else is priced exactly as it is in Durham. A 24 x 36 inch lawn sign is $85, or $75 each at two or more, with no surcharge for being east of the region.
- A sleeve rider is $21 and slides onto a frame you already own, which is the cheapest way to get a unit count or a legal duplex line onto an investment listing.
- Peterborough agents share the Central Lakes board and MLS with Durham Region, so a Peterborough order and an Oshawa order come off the same press at the same published price.
